The Private Consultation
Where Your Ideas Begin
Your bespoke journey begins with a private consultation, where we take time to understand what you would like to create and the meaning behind it. You may arrive with a clear vision, a collection of ideas or simply a feeling you would like the finished piece to express.
We will discuss your preferred style, precious metal, diamonds or gemstones, practical requirements and budget. If the piece is intended to complement existing jewellery, we will also consider its proportions, setting and how the designs will sit together.
Shaping Your Piece
Design, Refined Together
Following the consultation, we begin developing the design. Initial ideas are translated into considered sketches and, where appropriate, detailed CAD visuals that allow you to see the proportions and construction of the piece before it is made.
The design develops through conversation. We refine the shape, setting, scale and smaller details with you until every element feels right. Production begins only after you have reviewed and approved the final design.

Chosen for Beauty and Character
Diamonds and gemstones are selected specifically for your design, with attention to beauty, proportion, quality and value. We explain the characteristics that matter and present carefully chosen options so you can compare them with confidence.
Where appropriate, your chosen stone will be accompanied by independent certification. We can also source unusual cuts, coloured gemstones and closely matched pairs for more individual commissions.

Handcrafted in London
Bringing the Approved Design to Life
Once the design and stones have been approved, our goldsmith begins creating your piece in our London workshop. The jewellery is made around the agreed design and the precise proportions of your selected diamonds or gemstones.
Traditional craftsmanship is combined with modern precision throughout the making, setting and finishing process. Each stage is carefully managed and inspected, ensuring that the finished piece reflects the design you approved and meets our standards for beauty, comfort and durability.
We undertake only 15 bespoke commissions each month, protecting the time and attention required to complete every piece properly.
Created for You
The Final Presentation
Approximately four weeks after your journey begins, your finished piece is prepared for its private presentation. We will show you the completed jewellery, explain its important details and provide any supporting certification, valuation documentation and care information.
This is also an opportunity to check the fit and ensure that everything feels exactly as it should. Your relationship with Emily Burlington continues through ongoing advice, professional care and aftercare whenever your jewellery needs our attention.
